Days 33-39: Novobureyskiy, Vostok, Yerofey, Chernyshekaya, Chita, Bada, Ulan Ude

We have been on the move every day since we left Khabarosvk
Often without internet access
Or bandwidth for uploading photos.

I have a swag of photos
And masses of impressions
Too much to process some days.

Today I have selected some sets of images
Of people who have blessed us along the way
Prepared our food, shared friendship

Images of food
Borscht has already featured, but other foods
Have sustained us and made us hungry for fresh fruit and vegetables.

Places we have slept, Places we have eaten
Roadhouses, guest houses, strategically placed,
For just when we need them.

And images of the road
Because the condition of the road
Is what other riders want to know about.

Always, always it is the people who make our day.
They make our food, they make us smile, they share their adventures.
We have loved meeting up with and riding with Lenus and Tsumotu.
And a Dutch cyclist who has biked from Magadan and some Croatian motorcyclists.

The food, lots of protein, meat, qark, dumplings, and bread and buns
And cans of heated coffee displayed in heated cabinets (like pie warmers)
Sweetened milky coffees, or sweet sofa or water are the options. Oh, and cheap alcohol.

On the left are guest houses, usually a twin room with a toilet and shower down the corridor. We use our silk sleeping bags sometimes and make our own pillow by rolling up our clothes. Cafes on the right side. These are often adjacent to petrol stations. Truckers park outside and sleep. They use the showers to refresh themselves and change into their pyjamas.

The roads have been good. There were quite a few areas undergoing summer asphalting.
There were detours where bridges were being rebuilt.
Long road vistas stretching into the distance and swooping downhill slopes followed by long climbs were embroidered with a variety forests and farmland.
