Day 25: Kyoto to Sakaiminato 23°-15°C 310km 7 hours

It seemed as if we were riding
A Möbius strip
Would we escape?

The route map looked simple
But the road system
Was beyond our Garmin

Two hours
To escape Kyoto
Thinking about
The bullet train trip

A peaceful start
As Children walked to school
Safely guided as they go

A peaceful
Arrival at sakaiminato
At our ryokan

Shoes off at the door
Socks on.
Onsen
Then delicious dinner
Follows

By the end of day
We could laugh
And know what a story it would be.

Recycling is the norm.

Let’s wait this shower out.

Sakaiminato is on an isthmus with avenues of trees and flowering azaleas.
This pick up is the same length as our bike. Many of the vehicles on the roads in Japan are small and compact.

Tatami matted serene hotel corridor.

The desk in our room is the height of two helmets. The chair seat comes two thirds up my lower leg.
The futon is firm.
The dinner is delicious.
Starting with Sashimi and other small bites.

Yes, I ate some of the pork special. Not sure which part of the pig I was eating.

Tempura, conger eel, king crab, prawn, lotus root... freshly prepared.
Served with a warmed tempura dipping sauce.
