Day 21: Akureyri

We are having a rest day in Akureyri.
Our walkabout includes Akureyri Botannical gardens.
These are the most northern Botannical gardens in the world.
Many temperate climate plants are thriving.
My eye is drawn to peonies and poppies.
Sky blue poppies. Yellow, white and orange Iceland poppies.
Livingston daisies, hellebores, azaleas, aquilegias, ranunculus, tulips...
I see more flowers today than in all the rest of our time in Iceland.

Song of Songs 2:11-12
See!
The winter is past;
The rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
The season of singing has come.
