On our way through the Atacama Desert, Chile.


The desert speaks...





A warm and generous heart at El Chino Restaurant. He gave a gift each to Shirley and me. 
Mine was an embroidery with the a bird and some leaves and the word Amor (Love). 

 oases, where vines, tomatoes, maize, broad beans and many vegetables grow.


I am the vine...

Chicken chicarrones. Succulent inside the corn-meal crust.

I am the light...

Some of the straight roads were 50+km without a curve.

The Atacama desert is driest desert in the world.
There is evidence of water action some time in its history.
