The power of water.

Day 4: Smithers to Stewart and to nearby Hyder in Alaska.
From Hyder we went to Salmon Glacier. We are two weeks too early to watch grizzly bears to catch salmon in a stream on this road. The Salmon Glacier was an awesome sight. The road was a wee challenge after all the paved highways we have enjoyed.

Beneath the bridge at Moricetownis a protest sign. The proposed Enbridge oil pipeline from Alberta to Kitimat will cross about 600 rivers and streams in BC.

Flood damage. This bailey bridge on the road to Stewart was one of several we crossed today.

This landscape is carved by glaciers.

The roads suffer... so do the road users.

Extensive wetlands are scattered everywhere we have been in British Columbia.
