Coolangatta to Gympie via Surfers Paradise and Caloundra

Mark offers a steadying hand.
A throng of 12 year old footballers (rugby league here) arrive.
I love it that these two ask me the technical questions.

They form a guard of honour and off we go...

slowly north through the high rise cities along the coast.
The route near the sea is filled with school holiday traffic which is slowed down by road works associated with the new light rail project.

Most of the photographs in this blog are taken from the back of a moving motorcycle with a Canon G12.
All goes well until my driver changes speed. This what happened to two Golden Girls in gold lurex and sequins and cowboy hats who were promenading beside the Gold Coast beach wall.

We visited a BMW dealer today.
These photos are especially for our friend Ken who is driving a car across the USA this month with Shirley.

After a lunch break we ride to Caloundra where Mark is staying
Goodbye for now, Mark.

Adios amigo, Vaya con dios.

We ride north to Gympie.

Fri 5th We are watching with interest. We are now in Alice Springs and Yulara for 6 - 7 days before starting back to Darwin. We have seen lots of motorbikes but not too many 2 up! Travel safe. Dave & Judy

If you listen quietly at the Standley Chasm or the Ormiston Gorge you might hear the sound of singing left behind by our Desert Choir trek. Sing a song there - the resonance is glorious.
Now we know where the motorbikes have all gone. Very few around here. One chap told us people don't ride in winter! Keep your eyes peeled around Darwin. D
