To Quito

Yes, it's snowing.

We are 00.08" north of the equator and it is 8.5deg Celcius.

When were at Deadhorse, Prudhoe Bay, Arctic sea, Alaska 70.20" north it was 21degC

But inside it was warm. Fast moving hands preparing bizcochos. After a warming cafe con leche and we are on our way.

When we arrived at BMW in Quito to drop Mella off for her 40,000km service the odometer was 40,0002km!!
Dick has come up trumps again. So has the team.

Mella is fifteen months old and we have ridden circa 38,500 together.

Dick has flown to New Zealand today.

We have travelled 8920km on this stage from Hollywood, California to Quito.
27,387km since Vancouver on June 28, 2012.

Once upon a time I was a biology teacher. I have always wanted to visit the Galapagos archipelago.
Alejandro has found me a trip to the Galapagos for the next few days.

Ecuador is also the place where panama hats are hand made.
So, of course I have visited a wonderful hat shop.

Beautiful roses grow in Ecuador.
This perfect little bud kept Matilda Rose in my mind and in my prayers today.

Psalm 139:13-14
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Location:Ibarra to Quito 138km, total 27,387 from Vancouver, 8920 from LA.

Diane, I wish we could have been there together. Wonderful family care among the birds and animals. Wonderful behaviour,too. Even the fish came up and introduced themselves. It is an amazing place and I will take a while to absorb what I saw and felt.
