One week to go

We packed our bags today.

The bulky motorcycle jackets (including a heated jacket and gloves) and trousers have gone ahead in the panniers with the bike (Mella), She arrived in Vancouver today. We will be there on 23 June, 2012.

Travelling light
Everything I need for up to four months fits into a 35x24x30cm Katmandu bag. Weight 4.8kg. (+ pearls 30g) Four layers of Icebreaker merino wool long sleeved tops, three light weight Icebreaker T shirts for the warm places, underclothes, light weight shirt and trousers, sneakers, socks, a parka and jeans.

No, the bike helmet is not in the green bag.

Travelling from the North to the South of the American continents is going to be a challenge.

I was reminded of where my help lies this morning.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

A Blessing for the Traveler (John O'Donohue)
May you travel in an awakened way,
Gathered wisely into your inner ground;
That you may not waste the invitations
Which wait along the way to transform you.
May you travel safely,arrive refreshed,
And live your time away to its fullest;
Return home more enriched,and free
To balance the gift of days which call you.
With love and blessings, Joce X
